Thanks to the support provided by the country's leadership, a group of domestic entrepreneurs managed to successfully launch the project "Production of high-quality flat glass using float technology, grade M0, thickness from 1.6mm to 12mm, with a maximum capacity of 300 tons/day, for the needs of the construction and automotive industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan, through the construction and commissioning of a modern glass factory using German technology".
The project was implemented in accordance with the Protocol following the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Navoi region dated March 2, 2018 and Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No.PP-4563 dated January 09, 2020. "On measures to implement the investment program of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2022".
- The initiator of the project is the limited liability company Zarafshon Oyna, established in November 2017.
- The total cost of the project was 250 million US dollars.
- The initiator's own participation in the project is 175 million US dollars.
- The loan from Asaka Bank is 75 million US dollars.
The construction site of the plant was not chosen by chance. Due to the tax and customs privileges provided by the state to the participants of the Navoi free economic zone, as well as taking into account that the base of the main raw materials - quartz sand, limestone and dolomite - is located in the Tamdyn district of Navoi region, the initiators of the project decided to build a plant in the industrial zone of Zarafshan.
On March 2, 2018, the project was presented to the President of our country during his visit to Navoi region and received his approval.
In 2019, construction of the plant began and a loan from Asaka Bank was allocated for the purchase of technological equipment from Germany. The supplier of technological equipment was the German company HORN Glass Industries AG, which is the world's leading manufacturer of equipment for the glass industry.
By the way, this is the third glass factory built by the initiator of the project in Uzbekistan. Earlier, the initiator of the project built and commissioned two glass factories in the Syrdarya district of the Syrdarya region for the production of glass containers for the needs of the pharmaceutical and food industries. In 2018, the glass factory of SIRDARYO UNIVERSAL OYNA LLC with a capacity of 120 tons/day was put into operation, and in 2020, the glass factory of SIRDARYO GLASS LLC with a capacity of 160 tons/day. The equipment of the German company HORN Glass Industries AG is also installed at these plants.
On November 25, 2022, during a visit to the Navoi region, the President of our country personally pressed a symbolic button and launched the launch of our enterprise.
The entire glass production process at the factory is fully automated, in the form of a monitoring and control system integrated into the production line.
In terms of equipment and technical capabilities, the plant fully complies with international standards and has no analogues in Central Asia. The production line allows the production of sheet glass of the M0 brand, the maximum size of the jumbo format is from 1.6 mm to 12 mm thick. The production capacity of the plant is 16 million square meters of flat glass per year.
The plant's laboratory equipment performs high-quality control of raw materials and finished glass using an express analyzer from SPECTRO Analytical Instruments GmbH (Germany), which performs chemical analysis in minutes. This allows you to adjust the chemical composition of the glass in a timely and efficient manner. There is no such equipment in any glass factory in the country.
As a result of the successful implementation of the project, 700 new jobs have been created, the majority of which are the youth of the city of Zarafshan.
The plant's existing communications make it possible to ship finished products directly from the warehouse, both by rail and by road.
In 2024, the plant commissioned a quartz sand mining and processing plant with a capacity of 55 tons/hour, which allows us to enrich the main raw material component of quartz sand, making our products of the best quality. The plant has installed technological equipment from AKW Apparatus + Verfahren GmbH, Germany.
